Now don’t get me wrong. I understand moments where digital may be much more useful such as people who travel all the time but we should not have to shun physical media to the side removing options. We should always have an option to choose what type of library we want to build. 5 of 5

But with digital games you’re kind of spoiled you probably will spend more times switching between games than actually playing them and completing them. Because you can just switch at the press of a button from one game to the next. But with physical you put it in and stick with it. 4 of 5

Also, digital gaming kinda spoils you. How? Well with physical games it’s more like a commitment. You put the game in the console and play. You’re stuck playing that game until you actually walk over to the console and switch discs. It makes you want to stick with your choice and play longer. 3 of 5

And you know what they can do with a license? That’s right. They can take it away. That means your digital game you bought is gone FOREVER. And you can’t beat holding a game physical whether it’s the case, disc, cartridge or flipping through a manual while bored one day. 2 of 5

Oh and there’s another variable to this whole thing. I’m no software engineer. I’m an artist so coding and I don’t mix well together at all. So even though I dream of having my own game engine I could never make that. I could only draw the UI graphics for one and pretend! XD

Or I can take the long hardcore way of making a game engine on Linux but the issue there is that people don’t really cover that anywhere. You can find a million videos and cursors on how to make games and game assets but you won’t really find game engine development anywhere out in the wild

But mainly, I will be falling behind in the modern games space frankly? I don’t really like most modern AAA games. Instead I’ll be putting a big focus on retro games now. I want to focus art and game development because I just feel like my true calling so in a way guess games are as well lol 3 of 3

So basically transitioning from playing games to being an artist and making games. Don’t worry, not leaving gaming entirely I’m just gonna slow it down and not keep buying more and more and more games. Sticking with what games I already have unless I see a modern game that interests me. 2 of 3
