Denkwürdig war die parteiische Rolle der ARD. Man hätte Weidel sich einfach um Kopf und Kragen reden lassen können. Stattdessen kann sie ihren Anhängern jetzt eine Märtyrer Geschichte erzählen, weil zu recht niemand glauben mag, dass man den Demolärm nicht einfach hätte herunterregeln können.

Man kann nur hoffen, dass die EU nicht auf die Idee kommt, Handelspolitik und Tech-Regulierung im Paket zu verhandeln. Beim einen Thema geht es um schnöde Wirtschaftsthemen, beim anderen um eine funktionierende Demokratie.

Totally agree. Question is how fast the EU can move. Regarding trade policy all procedures are in place. But when it comes to defense, the EU doesn’t have any powers, processes, or staff. So far, defence has been entirely up to the individual member states and NATO.

Churchill would likely have settled it over a cognac in one hour but this is the EU. When 28 EU member states must agree on new trade and defense policies towards the U.S., the process inevitably takes time. This is probably one of the most impactful decisions the EU has ever made.

Sorry Frau Brantner, aber das ist populistischer Kneipentalk. Als MdB dürfte es doch nicht so schwer sein, herauszufinden, wo tatsächlich Alternativen zu U.S Produkten existieren und wo wir noch lange auf die USA angewiesen sein werden.

I find it problematic to equate social media platforms with products like peanuts or soybeans. X is a tool deliberately used to undermine European democracy and promote right-wing ideology. It should be addressed as such, entirely independent of discussions on tariffs.

Finde das Urteil gut und richtig. Aber muss man wirklich auf jene schiessen, die sich fragen, ob das Urteil dem RN mehr hilft als schadet? Das ist eine legitime Frage, die einen weder zum Rechtsstaatsgegner noch zum Le Pen Fanboy machen sollte.

Und dann sind da ja auch noch Ivanka oder Donald Junior. Wenn die Institutionen erst einmal alle in MAGA Hand sind, dann ist die Nachfolgeregelung nicht mehr so schwierig.
