Don’t give up. If you find yourself in a “DEI desert” (like rural southern IL), find a group willing to share the burden of picking up groceries and items from stores further away once or twice a month. Don’t give up your power.

-download Goods Unite Us, check the companies you’re buying from and submit requests for companies to be added
- check political giving by brands and companies you buy from
-search “DEI” on company websites before buying

The thing Walmart, Aldi, Target, and similar companies cutting DEI programs don’t seem to understand is that by and large women are making the purchasing decisions for the kinds of goods they peddle. And what, as women, we should understand is that we have power in that role.
