Hello I used to Tweet but now I only tweet Massive poofter, mostly gayposting in response to a society that has gotten high on its own supply of howfin queerphobia

Extremely relieved the Dolly Parton situation was "she's not dying, she's just Southern"

I am once again asking that any renewed planning permission for the site of the former Anniesland Jobcentre be conditioned on including a direct path from the westbound platform of the station to the Lidl

Extremely on my brand work activity this morning (also I got to go introduce myself to a broadcasting legend and fanboy slightly)

Good morning to this man and his two pet rats only
During the BBC's daytime visit, one resident was seen carrying his two pet rats and screaming insults at ICE agents posted outside the federal building.

"Get back in your pen, pig!" yelled the man, as flannel-wearing bike commuters stopped by to observe the scene.

I would still die for this little man

This btw to me is absolutely *mind boggling*: there were Scottish Greens pointing to (genuine, serious) SNP failings on trans rights and healthcare as part of the final anti-BHA push, but now wanting to buy into a project that has bent over backwards to accommodate and centre a transphobic MP. Odd!
afaulds.bsky.social
I frankly think it's wishful thinking for YP, a Westminster reaction to Westminster conflicts *that can't even draw a line on transphobia*, to do vastly better than that at Holyrood, thinking spurred by moving in self-confirmatory bubbles and fundamentally unserious views of how government works.

We've done "the Non-Green Capital L Left start a new thing months before Holyrood and some senior Greens are convinced that the future is working with them" thing before, in 2016, it was called RISE and it won 0.5% of the vote and sucked so much life from the SSP they sat 2021 out.
afaulds.bsky.social
And crucially the Greens were 115 votes shy of an MSP in every region in 2021; on the notional results for new boundaries they are in fact defending in every region. There are no places they can't win themselves so literally all a newly founded YP would have to offer is "pact us or we fuck you over"
euan.bsky.social
at Westminster the Greens and Your Party have sitting MPs and could potentially coordinate where they target their resources, at Holyrood we’ll both be trying to win list seats in each region, effectively a zero-sum game, as every vote for YP is a vote against the SGP and vice-versa

Like if you're going to go all-in on describing a country as inherently and deeply fascist you might as well site the start of your timespan somewhere in the period where they applied their immense military might to conquering, occupying and brutalising vast numbers of their neighbouring countries
afaulds.bsky.social
Today in "people really will post anything", a take I saw in the wild is that "Japan has been a fascist government since the fall of the Emperor" which, one, feels weird to post-date that claim to the end of WWII and two, this is a country that had constitutionally mandated near-pacifism for decades

Okay I know these people have melted their own brains but of Rural - Suburban - City living only one of those options is, functionally, less than a century old! If you want to be Traditional Heterosexual Family Living, your options are Village or Metropolis, Lifeless Suburb is the woke innovation

You should stop giving people columns when they start writing stuff like this

Which btw was months ago, this is not new, but you cannot get a clearer indication of someone's brain rotting than "Catholic starts obsessively batting for organisation that exists to discriminate against Catholics"

'There’s a feeling too that the Orange Order has acted in good faith and in the spirit of One Scotland Many Cultures; that they’ve moved into those values and helped advance Scotland’s reputation as an inclusive, diverse and tolerant nation' || Kevin McKenna 👇

(Obviously this only applies to a small number of the protests and protesters that the UK Government is trying to shut down, but just one thought for the complexities of the actual state you govern, on occasion, as a special treat, would probably be a good thing, just saying)
afaulds.bsky.social
UK Government, thinking it's hit upon a cleverly damning line: Um I think you'll all find that these protests are Un-British! Do you WANT to be seen as Not British?!?

Young, left wing Scots who support Independence and whose identification with Britishness is at an all time low: Literally yes

Sorry, had to dive into my OG Twitter Account (RIPGBNF) archive to find that last post's image which meant scanning through various circa 2021-2022 posts. I am blessed with abundant self-confidence about my looks to this day but Allan Aged 31? I was really, in the now outdated lingo, feeling my oats

(It's also very funny when you look at this that when I say he's a source for candidates on Wikipedia, I mean his website is hosting the list of "Liberate Scotland" constituency candidates drawn from the too weird for Alba wing of Indy support, so now *he's* encouraging what he railed against here!)
afaulds.bsky.social
I'm not even kidding, I saw several people (single digit, sure, but still *actual human beings who presumably consume precious oxygen*) absolutely aghast and demanding clarification. Apart from anything else (there's so much else), it looks like a bloody Order of Service made on the cheap!
afaulds.bsky.social
One of the sources for non-major party candidates on the SP26 election Wikipedia page is "Barrhead Boy" which reminded me that he was the source of one of the most absolutely, screamingly funny attempts at either misinformation or a joke in 2021 *that nonetheless some people still believed was real*
A screenshot of a tweet by "Barrhead Boy", in which he states: "for those that are still trying to tell you the Greens are SNP allies and support Independence then show them this."

What follows is an image professing to be a Green leaflet for Barbra Harvie, Green candidate for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire, though it looks more like an Order of Service given how they've presented her photograph. In addition, it's clearly badly made in paint, with a fluorescent and hard to read green on a blue background. It also has an imprint reading "Published by supporters of Ariane Burgess for Ettrick, Roxburg and Berwickshire constituency and also the regional list" which amongst the many issues names a Highlands and Islands candidate which are, definitionally, literally the opposite side of the country from the Borders.

The various bits of unhinged text read:
#Both Votes Green To Stop The SNP
With 12 Green Candidates in The Constituencies We Can Stop An SNP Majority in Holyrood!
Without Independence Supporters Votes We Cannot Impose Our Agenda
The Planet Is More Important Than Independence
SAVE OUR PLANET
#BothVotesGreen
HELP TO STOP AN SNP MAJORITY
Vote Green #1 and 2
Most Votes Think We Are Just A Scottish List Party
We Need A Minority Government For Our Policies

It'd be great if we lived in a country where we didn't have folk you could point at and justifiably exclaim "look, it's a Nazi!", but I'd settle for the middle ground of being able to point at them and exclaim "look, it's a Nazi!" without A, being sued, and B, having the media swear blind it isn't
