By 2030 our projections show that 60% of people living with HIV in western & central Africa will be >40, and 65% will be girls & women.

Leaders must strengthen HIV services for older adults, prioritize care for women & girls, and tackle barriers driving these trends.

In a world of hatred, #MushinHendricks was a voice and act of love. They didn’t tolerate him. He was killed was traveling to marry two people whose only crime was to love each other.

Impact of the pause of U.S. foreign assistance in Ethiopia The pause in US assistance means tens of thousands of people especially women, young girls, and high risk groups, will lose access to critical services like HIV testing, antiretroviral treatment, pre-exposure prophylaxis and screenings for tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections and support to address gender-based violence. Vital supplies like HIV testing kits are also delayed 5000 public health workers, funded by US assistance, have had their contract terminated. Healthcare workers are the backbone of the HIV response, and without them, progress will be slowed. Ethiopia's health information system is also impacted. The termination of 10,000 data clicks is compromising the accuracy and continuity of critical HIV data tracking. The Ethiopian Ministry of health has committed to managing the services previously funded by US assistance to ensure continuity. UNAIDS and WHO are working with government, society and development partners to identify solutions to address gaps in the HIV, TB, malaria, health and community assistance responses in Ethiopia.
