Our governments (including this one) have been funnelling money from the people to their wealthy sponsors for decades. After creaming some off for themselves, then of course warmongering doesn't come cheap.

Yes they are- virtually everything today is done in secret, much of it without even parliamentary oversight.

Involving plenty of bribery and blackmail. Both parties in the US were infiltrated & bought many years ago (AIPAC paid $100 million buying candidates of both parties before the last election). As has the UK Labour government and the Conservative opposition.
