learning how to hammer
It will forever be funny to me that the reason I started following you online was because I thought you had good vibes in a Blades in the Dark AP.

Playing in a Stonetop game a few years ago was what turned a lifelong desire to game regularly into a burning need. Such a good game, even in it's unfinished state. I think The Would-Be Hero is my fave PbtA playbook ever.

After all that talk I missed out! Would love a ping

Awesome! Thank you so much. My weekly ttrpg group plays in a fantasy pnw, we're in Vancouver, so I'm going to pick up some for Christmas gifts.

I'm trying to order and don't see an option to ship to Canada although there is mention of international shipping in your about section. Is the zine US exclusive? Incredible work either way!

I have extremely strong visual snow. Visits to eye specialists weren't particularly helpful, related to migraines maybe?, but I did learn I have a dormant toxoplasmosis cist on the back of one of my eyes. So that's fun.

I've never been able to get in The Wizard of Earthsea despite every person I respect saying it's the greatest thing ever. These things can be inexplicable

Oof. I think that's supposed to be her best series, right?

Was thinking that it must be fairly hard for a book to compete with Brazil

My highest recommendation. Tough reading at times, content wise, but worth it

I, too, enjoy a certain opacity. Have you tried Malazan? It's great in that regard

I've never been that moved by story, so it's interesting to hear another perspective. I often lament that there is too much story in things. I'm mostly interested in characters, not plot

That's interesting. When I think of books I love great prose would be one of the first things that comes to mind.

Your work in the books is just incredible. Every piece stood out as a lot of the other art in Dolmenwood isn't as much to my taste. In particular your depiction of a crookhorn attacking a knight sold me on them as terrifying threats as opposed to sort of darkly comic grossout oafs.

It's like if the entire cast of a show and all of the sets changed no? Like sure they're supposed to represent the same things, but that's not the easiest mental hurdle to overcome

This tracks to me. I've never been bothered by the grey and green fantasy thing, largely because that's what the world looks like here in Vancouver.
