The three-lingual play “I Speak of Me as I Am. A Necessary Intervention ” was performed at Bayreuth’s Reichshof-Theater in June. It brought Shakespeare’s Black characters: Othello, Caliban, Cleopatra, and Lucy into powerful conversation with African stories and postcolonial critique.
