As a Quaker organization that believes in the value of every human life, we mourn the over 1,000 Israelis killed
on Oct. 7, 2023.

We mourn the more than 67,000 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since.

And we call for the release of all Palestinian and Israeli civilians held captive.

Yesterday, President Trump issued a memo targeting “domestic terrorism networks” in an attempt to silence dissent. Labeling critics as "domestic terrorists" is authoritarian—and a threat to our constitutional rights.
Beige background graphic with AFSC logo in red and black text that reads: As part of our Quaker faith, the American Friends Service Committee is committed to nonviolence and compelled to speak truth to power, even when it is difficult or dangerous to do so. We will continue to speak up for justice, peace, and the right to dissent. We encourage everyone in the United States to do the same.

Trump’s latest EO sanctions the ICC and any group or person backing its probe into Israel’s war crimes. It’s another move by his admin to punish Palestinians seeking justice, even as they face genocide in Gaza. afsc.org/newsroom/afs...
Black background with white AFSC logo and text reading: AFSC strongly condemns the U.S. government's latest sanctions targeting three critical Palestinian human rights organizations—Al-Haq, Al Mezan, and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights.

For decades, these human rights organizations have provided essential research and documentation that the international community relies on to monitor Israel’s violations against Palestinians. We urge the United States to reverse this decision.

Yesterday, a federal appeals court ruled that the Trump administration can end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for immigrants from Honduras, Nepal, and Nicaragua. This places over 60,000 people at risk for deportation as early as September.

Today 100+ orgs issued a statement in opposition to Israel’s obstruction of aid & efforts to ban aid organizations. The consequences are deadly; in Gaza people are starving while most INGOs have been blocked from delivering lifesaving supplies for months. afsc.org/newsroom/100...

Yesterday, President Trump announced he was seizing control of Washington DC’s police and deploying the National Guard. He also threatened to displace houseless people, push harsh sentencing for youth, and roll back key bail reforms. This could lead to disastrous consequences.
Beige background with AFSC logo and black text: We must resist the undermining of democracy, the militarization of our communities, and the caging and displacement of poor people and people of color. And we call on elected officials at all levels of government to do everything in their power to stop this plan from moving forward.

For our colleague, Yousef, we will remember the stories and hopes of Somaiya, Anas, Hoor, and Sham. And we will continue demanding an end to this genocide and Israeli violence.

On Aug. 6, Yousef's sister, her husband, and two children were killed by an Israeli airstrike that hit their apartment.

Today, the fourth of July marks the birth of our nation. But it also serves as a reminder that our country was built by immigrants from all over the world.

We know our communities are stronger with immigrants.

Today the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that lower courts cannot issue nationwide injunctions against President Trump’s efforts to curtail #birthright citizenship.

Our communities are stronger and safer with immigrants.
White text on black background with white AFSC logo, text reads: Today the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that lower courts cannot issue nationwide injunctions against President Trump’s efforts to curtail birthright citizenship. This decision is an affront to constitutional rights, common sense, and the wellbeing of our communities. It also undermines the legal system as a whole and the ability of federal courts to put a check on presidential power in particular. However, the Supreme Court did not rule on the issue of birthright citizenship itself.

We will continue to work with partners and communities across the country to challenge both unjust immigration policies and authoritarianism more broadly. We will be in congress, in the courts, in our communities, and in the streets working for a world where democracy is upheld and our families are not torn apart. Our communities are stronger and safer with immigrants.

NO WAR ON IRAN!

The U.S. and the international community must make every effort to stop Israel’s violence and expansionist agenda in the region.
Red heading that reads: No war with Iran! And white text that reads: The U.S. and the international community must make every effort to stop Israel’s violence and expansionist agenda in the region. Early this morning, Israel launched airstrikes against Iran, targeting locations across the country. Israel’s unilateral attack represents a significant escalation, threatening regional and global security. In the last week alone, Israel has continued its genocidal campaign in Gaza, bombed Yemen and Syria, and relentlessly attacked Lebanon in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Banning people from the U.S. based on their country of origin is racist and immoral and must be categorically opposed.
White text on black background that reads: Yesterday the Trump administration instituted a new travel ban that bars people from traveling to the U.S. from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. The ban also puts restrictions on people from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.

This order will separate families, exile U.S. residents traveling abroad, and prevent students and workers from traveling to the U.S. It will also likely stoke xenophobia and discrimination against Muslims, immigrants, and people of color.
White text on black background that reads: Banning people from the U.S. based on their country of origin is racist and immoral and must be categorically opposed.

As a Quaker organization, we welcome everyone. We honor the Light in each one of us. We call on people of conscience to join us in speaking out against these discriminatory policies and demanding dignity and fair treatment for all.
