We were delighted to host LSE's annual Black History Month event examining the legacy of the 1985 Broadwater Farm uprising and the Tottenham 3 case.

Our panel explored the legal battles, community activism, and resistance movements which emerged from this.

Fellows also got to attend a keynote lecture by Professor Thomas Piketty during the III Conference💡

Outside of the classroom, Fellows took part in a Black History Walking Tour, exploring African and Caribbean history around London, and visited Mary's Charity in North London.

From September 18-19, @lseinequalities.bsky.social hosted its 10th anniversary conference, and Fellows had the opportunity to participate in a session hosted by the Politics of Inequality research network that included presentations by AFSEE Fellows Masana Mulaudzi and Juan David Velasco.

During their Module 3 trip to Edinburgh, AFSEE Fellows participated in a workshop facilitated by AFSEE Senior Fellow Jack Nissan and the Tinderbox Collective. The event got Fellows dancing and singing along with communities in Kenya and India 🎶
