Summary of afterreign’s story: There he goes again, just as I expected. The same old, tiresome pattern of looking downcast, words threatening to spill from his mouth like that time he petulantly sucked on a lemon, childlike insistence that because it's a fruit, of course it'd be sweet. Of course, Akira regretted it; he'd refuse to whine, swallowing all of his ews and yucks, when he discovered his mistake with the gravity that only a child could ever experience. I had placed an orange-flavored candy from my purse into the warmth of his palm, enclosing his hand with my own, the memory of laughter kissing my lips. I know my son. Or: Two weeks after Akira returns to Inaba, he and his mother share a meal together. Sometimes, his mother thinks, it's like he's not sitting in front of her at all.

Akechi Goro doesn't think of himself as sentimental. He isn't, which is why he curses that his feet led him to this mecca of memory in the first place. In contrast, his hands luckily have some semblance of sense, hence why he hasn't just flung open the door to Café Leblanc and marched on in. Instead, Goro has squirreled himself away just shy of the entrance of a familiar laundromat, tucked behind a rusting, corrugated metal wall that'd likely give him tetanus had he not been wearing gloves. Death by some flimsy metal instead of a bullet to the gut would be a pathetic way to go out, but maybe it'd actually be permanent this time.

Summary of afterreign's story "small desires": Wonder thinks everything about this is strange. Merope had gushed about summoning Phantom Idols to join him (and to be honest, Wonder thinks she’s mixing her clear fixation for idol culture with her duties as a Velvet Room Attendant), but putting all of this into practice is a different story. Not that he has a problem with fighting by Mont’s side; she’s already proven herself as an asset to their team tenfold. Yet it's one thing to slink out of the Metaverse with Motoha and Lufel following closely behind him in a half-hearted attempt to not draw any attention and another to crane his head to address the enigmatic girl, to maybe compliment her work that day or invite her to join the budding trio for some salmon and tuna onigiri at Triple Seven, only to be met with the ghost of her, a reminder that she isn’t real—or at least, this cognitive version of her isn’t. Mont releases a shuddering breath, yanking Wonder back to reality with a steady grip. Or: Wonder, funnily enough, wonders about Mont, the sole Phantom Idol in their band of thieves.
