This fantasy of regenerative grazing—AMP systems, riparian fencing, rotational grazing with close monitoring—is only viable in places with water, infrastructure, and labor. It’s tailored to the wetter, more forgiving lands east of the 100th meridian. Western public lands are something else entirely.
