I love that my local station accommodates nesting swallows like this. There’s 8~10 nests in a small barebones station with swallows constantly darting in and out overhead.

Love that my work recently means reading academic books. We’re compiling a reading list for the Kyoto craft program. Not sure if this will be on it yet but it was recommended by Morita-sensei from Osaka Ethnography Lab so excited to get started.

Didn’t know Nintendo’s original building was so close to Kyoto station. History this was a ‘bad’ area. Nearby is a container site that was apparently original a yakuza office but bought by Nintendo recently and made into some kind of residency space(?)

Today was a day of thinking about water. How it shaped Kyoto city and also how humans shaped the flow of water while imbuing all kinds of meanings on it. This photo was taken in Shoseien, garden which is fast becoming a favorite in Kyoto.
