I'm not making a letterboxd account just for #tgwdlm:r so take this comment I left on the vod instead. I would have mentioned / elaborated on some of the specific details I loved but if I started on that I don't think I ever would have stopped. tl;dr good show, i'll never be over it
A comment left by OP, which reads: "Just noticed that this [vod] has a comment section so let me say before my rental window expires: 1) Lauren as director, James as choreographer, and everyone else responsible for the set and lighting - plus sound and music! - fucking killed it. Everything you guys brought to this version elevates it on the marco and micro level. It feels bigger, more dynamic, more electric, but also still (relatively) grounded and personal when it counts - as well as feeling more intentional and intricate when it comes to the details, in a way that adds several new layers of meaning to scenes and really ties the whole thing together. 2) Re: the cast and their performances, though there are some moments I might prefer in the og, I love the extra pathos and lived-in-ness the cast were able to bring to the characters overall this time around. Clearly everyone was giving everything they had while having the time of their lives, and it's impossible for me even on multiple rewatches to not get caught up in it all. Particular shoutouts to Mariah and Corey in Not Your Seed, plus Jon in Let It Out (literally took my breath away when I saw it live). When I watched with a friend this morning, they remarked that this production compared to the og feels more complete, and I feel like that's the best way to put it. This is the version of this show that existed in my (and evidently Team Starkid)'s imagination, now able to be made real because of the love so many people had for it, and that's, frankly, beautiful. For me, this story, these characters and songs, will always have roots in my brain (even on this latest rewatch I had like five new "oh shit" moments that I went on to overthink) and a special place in my heart. Thank you for giving it a second life, for giving people like me the chance to see it live; it truly was a life-affirming experience. I hope everyone involved in this production continues to get to create more weird, authentic, passionate art <3"

first part of a short comic of asriel and chara. asriel enters through the doorway into the ruins’ room where the golden flowers grow, and calls “Chara?” we then see chara turned away from asriel, their arms full of flowers. asriel nervously says “Chara, it…. It wasn’t your fault.” without turning to look, chara says back “The Asriel I knew….” they pick a single flower and smile absently. “….wasn't a liar.” the comic continues. taken aback, asriel reevaluates. “Fine. Okay. It was your fault. But-“ Chara continues to pick flowers. Asriel looks down, then starts again with more conviction. “It wasn’t your fault, and, I love you.” Chara finally turns around, shocked. in the final panel we now see only flowey speaking to the empty air. he repeats “It was your fault, and I love you.”

i need to know if the author has played the video game night in the woods or if the use of the phrase “die anywhere else” was pure coincidence
