Finding out i have FASD is just. so upsetting. realizing all these years ive been suffering with a developmental/intellectual disability, and instead of getting me help everyone in my life just tried to pressure me into being normal

As you are on the journey into adulthood, you might notice that some things feel harder—socially, emotionally, or in day-to-day routines. For people with a diagnosed or undiagnosed Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, these changes are common and not a sign of failure. Many people assume that turning 18 means you suddenly gain all the skills and independence of an adult. But for those of us with FASD, our strengths and challenges don’t always match our age on paper.

This can create pressure—from others and from within. It’s also why adulthood often develops more slowly for people with FASD, sometimes coming together closer to age 30. And that is completely valid. The real goal isn’t to become fully independent overnight—it’s to build interdependence: a supportive, shared way of living that helps you stay safe, confident, and respected while still having control over your own life.

You are not alone in this. What you’re experiencing is something many young adults with FASD go through.

“Adulting” with FASD simply looks different. Many of us work hard to keep up, to look capable, and to fit in—even when impulsivity, vulnerability, dysmaturity, or suggestibility affect how we make decisions. That effort can be exhausting. Your experiences are real, valid, and shared by others who walk a similar path.

They're doing the same shit they did to natives because they think they're entitled to the land that they've fucking MUTILATED. Bison weren't hunted to near extinction by accident. Colonists intentionally killed them all since so many native tribes depended on it as a food source. They starved us to force us into reservations. So many people in America discend from natives, they don't realize that natives aren't "them." The colonists did this to everyone. They did this to US. OUR ancestors suffered this relatively recently and everyone seems to brush it aside as one of the natural evils of the world. Everything the us government is and has is stolen.
