For eg, NSW Labor premier Jack Lang (1925-27&30-32).
He booted the Leninist communists from the state party while in opposition.
He also insisted that employment and spending were the way to combat crashes in demand, long before Keynes, and he told the Britts they could wait for their WW1 debts.

This season has been amazing, contrasting against Australian politics.
Side by side, I can see where and how a few people made such a difference between Labor here and Labour there.
Can't thank you both enough.

I've this crazy notion that 'news' presents facts and relevant information.
What I mostly see and hear is polling, 'gotcha shit,' character assassinations, then back to polls to see what moved the needle.
Independent media continues to rise, and _good_.

I have to ask, had @iandunt.bsky.social read up on the Australian Greens?
What he says is what came to pass here over the 90s to late 00s.
The 2025 election flushed them from lower house and reduced their senate numbers, respite from the obvious performative meh. In short, transactional as herpes.

Oh my, thank heavens you didn't need to treat an itchy bottom 😬

Sir, if I might ask you a question?
When John Howard (not Labor) created the National Electricity Market in 1998, he promised to construct "The largest power network in the sothern hemisphere," to assist and interconnect renewables, like Canunda SA (2005).
Aren't they attacking a Howard policy?

On the ground, they're called a wake.

"This place works great!
How can we fix it?"
🤦‍♂️

"In that book, which is my memory,
on the first page of the chapter, that is the day when I first met you,
appear the words,

‘Here begins a new life’."

Congratulations to you both, Sir.

Ooo, and the Guardian's Xmas special...
... but then, it's getting late, and everyone is still here.
What do you put on to drive everyone out of your home?
A Very Wookiee Christmas 😎

Rather than a movie, I'll throw on the six eps of Black Doves.
I'm not really sure what that says about me ... nothing good, I suspect 🤷‍♂️
November 29, 2025 at 10:40 AM
Looks awful....ly lovely.
I guess you'll just have to keep buggering on, Sir.

.. and bless your cotton socks for that .. but, to me, the 'gig economy' is just a convenient label for 'piece-work'.
Haven't we done this already?

Presenting the Senator for Rinehart and the Member for Rinehart.
I hope 'mama' has buckets of gripe water.

Warning: don't drink that.
Testing has shown it's so bitter that you'll never have anything approaching taste again.
November 27, 2025 at 7:21 AM
.. would that it were so.
November 26, 2025 at 5:15 PM
<shyly raises hand>
I get that you're looking for some sort of grand vision, but I'd like to know what you would have them do?
November 26, 2025 at 5:01 PM
I suspect you'd manage just fine and with your usual aplomb.

Absolutely fabulous 🤣
November 25, 2025 at 11:18 PM
Mmm, I disagree.

I'd have preferred if they'd just continued, ignored her, and watched her sit 'n stew in her own ridiculousness for as long as possible.

Wouldn't that have been the perfect headline?

"Senator pulls silly stunt: Whatever, dude."

If they grab their bats and stumps and start beating each other, it'd be more like twitter... give or take a pitchfork...
