Terrific article , never knew such a folk festival on my doorstep. Agnes Owens , the Scottish author squatted in a derelict building with her husband Sam and gave birth to her son Bil back in 1950.

Agnes Owens’ writing was championed by Kelman and Gray but she remained mysteriously un-celebrated. “One publisher said people don’t want that kind of writing… about poor people.”

I was at (Catacombe dei Cappuccini, a macabre, necropolis beneath the monastery. Has approximately 9,000 mummified bodies & skeletons,& 1,600 visible mummies in their finest attire, lining the walls in niches or lying in open coffins.

Relatives of the dead visit and wash & comb their hair.

Yes I was there and it was a poor venue, went Glasgow Concert Hall last night to a gig which was great, if only Emmylou Harris had been there .

Have always remembered that you @peteralanross, were one of the first of very few mentions on the BBC to speak well of her and work the day after she died, and thank you for doing so .
