This was also the class where we learned to use Powerpoint, iirc. Some of those animations running on elementary school Pentium processors still haunt me to this day

the logic was, “when I cut, the source text goes away. What if I fucked up somehow and just deleted the text? What if something overwrites the clipboard? Safer to copy instead.”

There was a limit to how many times you could undo, too, so it’s not like you could ctrl+z your way to salvation.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

That's a bit (a lot) much. I don't recall ever having done that as a kid, but I'm surprised a reenactment would go that far!

SEA approach vectors arrivals over our house whenever there are more than three or four planes lining up, so sitting in the back yard playing "what's that, where's it from?" is a lot of fun.

God I love big ships. The 60,000 ton geared bulk carrier M/V Ionic United is en route to Portland from Kitimat, BC. It probably discharged bauxite at the Rio Tinto aluminum smelting plant in Kitimat, and sailed down to Portland to pick up something for a trip back across the Pacific.

Apparently I was supposed to sneak through an abandoned mall filled with jocks, fight someone called Sasquatch, talk to an Internet cop, and then get betrayed by a Haitian gang. Ezpz

I know, right!

There was a group of them scavenging around a trash can. I was about to take pictures of one on a bench but he flew away while I set my coffee down. This bold fellow¹ stuck around for a quick photo shoot.

Uh oh, looks like the bsky community is learning today that ‘AI’ is an umbrella that covers more than just slop generators.

It’s unfortunately a very general term and computer ppl aren’t always the best at defining, assuming their audience is just aware which of the 1638235 definitions they mean.

I feel Jairo's complaints in my bones. The little man wanted to put up some pumpkin lights the other night and I had to work out how to run the extension cord from the *one* outlet across a walkway in a way that won't trip people.

Hi it's me, the insane person standing in front of the coffee shop saying "Who's a handsome bird?"
Telephoto shot of a big black crow in a tree. The grow is sitting on a lichen -covered branch. He's facing right and leaning down to clean his break on the branch. Same crow, same branch. The crow is facing left, like a portrait of Washington. The tree's leaves are just starting to turn orange for the fall A very handsome crow looking at us The crow looking left again. Very handsome, very perfect bird. I love him.

I suggested the bug zoo, but Sabrina was not having it. We wound up taking a walk down to the Fisherman’s Wharf and then catching a water taxi back.
