Unfortunately, had a slight disagreement with a ram at the end of the week, and a nasty bruise keep growing…
Ended up in surgery with 200 ml removed and a big wound left…

Left NSW with Jugiong haying off very early with only lucerne beside the river was green. Same with Holbrook. Back to Tassie last week. Looking pretty good after some well timed spring rain.
Talk with clients over the week with strategies to have as many lambs on the ground by the end of 2026.

A great week in Wollongong for the International Sheep Vets Conference - with 370 colleagues from around the world attending, there were great conversations and presentations. Much information to be translated into take home messages to improve sheep health, welfare and production

Leaving lush pastures of western Vic behind (for a change!), heading to the ISVC held at Wollongong last week…
On the way up, the lushness was quickly left behind as we went over the Great Divide, heading into NSW. In the normally lush Holbrook region, pastures were starting to hay off early

Joined the International Sheep Vets conference pre-conference tour at Grampians Estate Winery with winemaker, Tom Guthrie providing history over lunch….

Pastures on client farms are starting to hit the targets for this time of the year, and ewes and lambs are doing well…
Most need more rain to ensure the spring continues and dams are full….
Thoughts should be going towards fly control & the summer drench program.…

Over the last coupe of weeks, some paddocks are getting away on some farms, while others with not quite as much rain, are still struggling.
