At the rec center where I work out, the local women's basketball league starts right now, on top of the Resolutioners. So I have a bunch of bored boyfriends in jeans and coats plopped down on my stations looking at their phones, adjusting the weights every few minutes.

Oof. Very cool, but immediate nervous system reaction to seeing these. Couple weeks ago, the highway patrol had to come pull my van back from sliding off the road toward the edge of a cliff in the Sierra Nevadas. I'd play this game, but probably with my eyes closed at the snowy parts.

People throw the word “unplayable” around a lot but when grounded is on and there’s a solar canon-spamming captain waiting on the ketch at the beginning of Ketchcrash to one-shot the first four people across, chewing up the revives… yeah. That modifier sucks.

I was sitting there, eating Cornuts, trying to get one that fell between the cushions, thinking to myself "no way they'd ever go as high as 18. there's no fucking way..." and just when I got my warm fingers around that prodigal Cornut and popped it in my mouth, he said "think of it- 18"! I choked.

I can only fall asleep to audiobooks I've "read" before, it got too frustrating to kinda remember bits and pieces through the Ambien haze. Fortunately, I have a lot of books I love to re-read.

I hope it lives up to expectations. When I find things like this, snacks and drinks and stuff I loved that I can't find anywhere, the one I finally, joyously find would've been better off staying lost. And I realize, again, that what I really want is for the time they were plentiful to come back.

I read your entire question and the context/provisions of the CA map passing, unlike a lot of responders. I imagine it would just go up in smoke, which I'd be fine with. We didn't vote to become cheaters. A +5 would be nice, obviously, but we were only shooting for a zero sum game. Keep it classy.

That never made sense to me. Dad showed it to us when I was seven or eight. Such a great show. I met James Brooks at a taping of The Daily Show 20 or so years ago and geeked out so bad.

I teach 5th grade and have a seven year old Mysterious Benedict Society is amazing, but no chance my boy would sit through it, much less read it on his own like OP was asking for.
