There's an ongoing outbreak of amatoxin poisonings in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas with liver failure reported in adults and children and one fatality so far. More info here: www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/OPA... Death caps (Amanita phalloides) grow from San Diego up through BC, and inland.
