The news industry is really difficult financially. @bluesky may be a new path forward. Anyone have any ideas how to make it a platform where media companies want to post news first ? And a platform where reporters, commentators, etc can make a living ?

Poilievre’s movement has decided that exploiting grievance and paranoia, no matter how irrational and destructive, is worth it if it means winning. www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...
Justin Ling: No, Pierre Poilievre, Justin Trudeau isn’t forcing us to eat bugs
Watching the party leader debase himself with bug-brained conspiracy theories is embarrassing. But this is, unfortunately, a core part of the Conservative party strategy these days.

Senate Judiciary Committee Dems have sent a letter to FBI requesting Matt Gaetz’s FBI file.

The letter was first obtained by Politico and later linked by the committee.

Rachael Bade also notes that Jon Ossoff has not signed the letter which has not made some of his colleagues happy.

If you want free & healthy media industry in Canada, you’ll have to make the choice btwn voting for Mr Poilievre, & any other party leader.
Yes, it will come down to that.

Or brush up on your French, as Que will become THE sole source of well-funded media, to afford large scale investigations

1. Outrageous that Catherine Herridge is still being put through this.

Forcing a reporter to reveal their source undermines the fundamental principles of a free press and has far-reaching consequences for journalism, public accountability, and democracy.

Imagine if intelligent people in Ottawa had prevailed and Catherine McKenney had been elected Major of Ottawa. Seniors, youth and students would be priorities for transit, sustaining a public service, instead of the ones paying the cost of Jim Watson's failed legacy. What a difference it would make.
