Strange if unsurprising absence of Dylan's first wife Sara. Also, The Beatles (albeit the Kinks get approvingly namechecked). And would've been good to see some Phil Ochs tussles, although a heart-tug to hear his "There But For Fortune" achingly done by this film's Joan Baez.

Strange if unsurprising absence of Dylan's first wife Sara. Also, The Beatles (albeit the Kinks get approvingly namechecked). And would've been good to see some Phil Ochs tussles, although a heart-tug to hear his "There But For Fortune" achingly done by this film's Joan Baez.
Edward Norton endearing, while poignant, as poor Pete Seeger - and yet Elle Fanning, like her "Silvie"/Suze, felt a little too unfairly sidelined. More caveats: Some music biopic cliches, and fuzziness with facts (as per "carnival boy" Bobby Zimmerman). Oh, and: why only "Play it [...] loud"?
