Mine is right. It’s based on electoral law. You can’t withdraw after the close of nominations. We have had elections postponed before when a candidate died but that’s not the situation here

The election would still go ahead with all three candidates on the ballot. It‘s too late to withdraw from the ballot

Yeah it’s interesting in that I don’t know if there is a perfect answer to it! I think it was good for me in terms of having no issue with forming friendships with men, but in other ways it has probably psychologically scarred me. But I guess that is the general experience of being a teenage girl

Yeah I do occasionally wonder about the long term impact of being surrounded by obnoxious rugby playing boys as a teen had on my self-esteem lol

I am grateful for the mixed gender element of my private education, and probably also for the Protestantism, but other than that I don’t think I got a better education than any of my friends who went to local schools (which were all pretty good because we lived in middle class suburban south Dublin)

Yeah. It’s generally not a conversation I can have with my mother because she takes it as an attack on her parenting choices (perhaps fairly) and it was what she prioritised over other things in what she thought was our best interest, but even being able to prioritise it is a privilege!

The school I went to is on the lower end of the fee paying school spectrum but I discovered recently that a lad in my year is the grandson of the last of these. Normal stuff

this is further backed up by the defensiveness of the people in the replies, delusionally claiming that fee paying schools aren’t only available to a particular class. Signed me, a person who went to a fee paying school who is now an adult who doesn’t believe they should exist 😇
