Congratulations to lab member Maria! Maria joined us this summer as an NHGRI GREAT scholar @ucscgenomics.bsky.social Within 8 weeks she learned new wet lab techniques, bioinformatics, and carried out independent research. Proud to share that she received an award for outstanding research poster.

We used a lab meeting to co-create a lab mission statement after we reflected on individual values and motivations towards our research. I highly recommend it!

I might have forgotten to share the good news. Our lab has a new member! Dr. Cabrera joined my lab in early April as a postdoctoral scholar. She will be investigating development and regeneration in jellyfish. 🪼 🧬 🧪 (The lab made sure to welcome her right. They are so talented and thoughtful)
