It is not a katsudon. I do not recognize this as a katsudon. Even if everyone but me recognized it, I would never recognize it. Curry-katsudon is not katsudon. It is just a different bowl of curry-cutlet!

I am currently in the middle of a serious dispute with a friend (female). Every time I see her, we argue. It's a battle for women's willpower and pride, which neither she nor I can ever give in to. It's... a fight to decide which tastes better, katsudon or oyakodon (parent and child bowl)!

Wake up → breakfast and housework → basic piano practice → lunch at random → practice piano piece to play at work → get bored and play my favorite piano piece → dinner → bath, etc → play electronic piano → sleep.
Dinner was take-out katsudon and beer.

There are many soba and udon restaurants along roads in mountainous areas and rural areas of Japan. And the katsudon at those restaurants is almost always delicious. It's better than the specialty restaurants in town or national chain restaurants.

It is all brown. The yellow of the egg blended into the brown. If I had wanted more green, I would have liked a little more, but the taste was good. Most of the customers at the restaurant were men, so the atmosphere of eating without worrying about manners is probably popular among men.

Ponzu-Katsudon. Ponzu sauce is poured over the pork cutlet.Actually, I do not like this katsudon very much. It changes the texture of the pork cutlet and the taste of the ponzu is too strong. Taste is a personal thing, so I won't say it tastes bad, but I wouldn't order it.

I found a katsudon with fish at a restaurant near a fishing port. The type of fish seems to change depending on the day's stock, and on the day I had it, it was horse mackerel. They also serve salmon, horse mackerel, sea bream and plaice on some days. I want to try all kinds.

As you can see from the way I straddle the motorcycle, I am a little taller than the average Japanese woman. But unfortunately, my stomach capacity is on par with the average. So even if I was offered such a pork cutlet bowl as a service, I would not be able to eat it all.

There are many different katsudon in Japan, but none is as unique as the katsudon served in Okinawa. Some restaurants serve regular katsudon, but the katsudon served at most restaurants in Okinawa is so filled with vegetables that you can hardly see the katsudon.

I am in Okayama Prefecture on a business trip. Speaking of good food in Okayama...there are kibi-dumplings, white-peaches, bara-zushi, horumon-udon, etc... But the best food in Okayama is demi-katsudon! The sweet and sour demi-glace sauce is the best match!
