Until you’re stuck in the middle of Germany somewhere for four hours because they spent 20 years letting the system decay instead of maintaining it.

the fact that the DMV is where voters are registered (in what I would bet is the majority of cases) is aggressively symptomatic.

We had a funny moment a few months ago because a friend’s kid calls me “Aunt Aileen” and she just figured out that we aren’t actually related. Surely these people are at least as smart as a five year old.

(Children would also be covered under this clause)

Yeah, I believe I added a “cats don’t count” addendum as well.

I made a household rule of “no electrical work while home alone” recently.

Legally they have to offer you four weeks, but only idiot foreigners like myself sign those contracts, six weeks is definitely the preference. And you have to take that vacation, there’s trouble if any is left over at the end of the year.

Because you’ve spent too much time in close contact with our household.

My salon lady: 'Don't you want to dye this?' Me: 'no, they've finally started listening to me at work.'

My grandfather trained as a pediatrician in the 1930s. He described in horrible detail the wards full of coughing children that they could do absolutely nothing for, except put warm compresses on their chests.

Vaccines save lives.

Despite a domestic violence incident the day before their wedding and once getting a DUI in a US Soccer van, Jerramy Stevens is still married to Hope Solo. What a guy.

It’s cheaper and more efficient to just put it on the shelves instead of storing it somewhere else (this is why in Germany we get the Christmas cookies starting in August)

Now I have to listen the next time I am on an airbus, I always think it sounds like a hacksaw.

Just the thought of this is making me sweaty.

I live near Düsseldorf, and I have to stick up for them and say that Bavaria is worse. But it's an overall German cultural trait to tell people they're doing it wrong.

Surely someone has pitched, 'Hinge, but for jobs', right?

Oh yeah, that’s just them being fuckers then. If you’re bored, here’s their wacky overseas voting instructions: youtu.be/NNLMlvxAVvQ?...

They used to make you basically do origami to get your ballot in an acceptable form. Even Texas is less bad.

Not to defend NY voting procedures, which are almost always deeply insane, but it is a bit bigger…

Dang, you beat me to it.

Good luck and stay safe everyone! People are demonstrating across the globe, we’ve got Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and Munich lined up here in Germany.

I moved to Europe and the time difference killed most of my fandom, but this has probably done in the last vestige.

Side note: court filing was regarding this www.rechargenews.com/wind/equinor...
I didn't have 'involved in a purported case of wind theft' on our 2025 household bingo card.

literally me proofreading justin's CV for a court filing as an expert: 'let's look up the US News and World report rankings, the Brits won't know how cool CMU and Stanford are.'

Me talking about myself 'oh, you know, I studied some stuff before I became a project manager.'

Yeah, I had the same thought. We just have a metal drain protector with holes in it but it saves the plumbing from my hair.

We're also conducting a long-term study of the effects of me having long hair on the size of cat-hair tumbleweeds. I think they are getting bigger.
