I agree. After fifteen years in the trenches, I no longer really expect much. I keep trying anyway just in case, but I don't get super excited like I used too.

I feel the disappointment, and then I do my best to let it go. I keep writing new stories thanks in part to 12x12pb, I look for the next opportunity, and I work to remember that no matter how small the spark of hope is after all these years, it's still burning!
