the valve index is literally the only seamless steamvr headset. Every other headset requires some sort of app to run in the background that always seems to mess up steamvr.

even as a pcvr headset all you have to do is use sidequest to side load virtual desktop and your still not giving meta money

until you start making purchases on the meta store, every quest costs them money. If you have a PC just side load virtual desktop to avoid giving them money and just use steamvr instead

I believe you could use bigscreen to handle both the plex server stuff and watching it with others.
I haven't used it in years but you should be able to just screen mirror your desktop playing the media onto bigscreen

you have to ease into it. Playing until your motion sick, then taking a break until your better then hopping back into it is the fastest way to get acquainted

What are your specs, and as for the controllers, Sony did the genius thing to have them connect via BLUETOOTH instead of 2.4ghz like a normal headset, so that could be the controller issue.

One reason is that Intel is kinda misleading, saying that they have 20 cores for example,when they actually have 8 real cores and 12 efficiency Cores (I don't even know what they do), while AMD says they have 12 cores and they actually do have 12.

okay but if you do add ram or storage PLEASE add it yourself. Nzxt is charging 300 for a 100$ upgrade, for both storage and ram

VR chat is dependent on literally everything, so that was the best I could find that is well rounded in parts

lowkey all that stuff is getting mad cheap, compared to a few years ago. You can buy a mouth tracker from project Babble for like 45 dollars, and buy slime trackers for around 200 for 5. They both work for pretty much every headset.

games are cheaper on oculus and you don't need to pay a subscription to play online, but please get your kid a parent managed account if you do🙏.
A switch is cheaper though but the games can get expensive + you need to pay a subscription to play online, but he could take the switch anywhere.
