The American Hospital Association reports the Trump Bill will impact everyone - not just the uninsured by increasing emergency room wait times, increasing costs and acting as a "hidden tax" on all Americans. It will also result in more Americans dying from injuries and preventable diseases.

Three cheers for the brave "No Kings" protesters. This was reported as the largest protest in American history. I guess that word must have gotten back to Trump, judging by the sour expression his face while observing his military birthday parade.

When masked gunmen snatch people off of the street without cause (or identifying themselves as law enforcement) does that make America a safer place to live? This administration has launched an attack on democratic America - and America needs to push back.

Completely unacceptable to ban immigration from Afghanistan when there are still people there (or the families of people) who helped the US war effort, and who have not been able to evacuate. This administration's incompetence hurts friend and foe alike.

On Monday, China accused TACO Trump of breaking terms of an agreement on tariffs, with restrictions on microchips and Chinese exchange students. Trump accused China of having violated the agreement. Who knows? Trump has no problem spreading lies, so we can only guess where the truth lies.

Our schoolyard bully president seems most happy when he is hurting those who can't fight back - the disabled, the hungry, the sick and the poor. Bonus: his "big, beautiful" budget bill will further undermine the US economy by adding trillions of dollars to the US debt.

Moody's has downgraded the US credit rating. The Trump budget will add $22 trillion to the existing $36 trillion debt over the next 10 years. This translates to fewer jobs, lower wages and a shrinking economy, according to the QUEST analysis.

Peter G. Peterson Foundation re: Trump budget: This irresponsible budget bill would significantly worsen America’s fiscal outlook and harm our economic future. The legislation piles on trillions in red ink and includes a range of budget gimmicks that attempt to obscure its true cost.

Eliminating income tax on Social Security would reduce federal revenue by $1.2 trillion over the 10 years, and bring both Social Security and Medicare closer to depletion/ automatic cuts. Social Security is already closer to automatic cuts than it has been since early in President Reagan’s tenure.

WSJ Editorial Board: "One tragedy of Mr. Trump's shoot-America-in-the-foot first approach is that he's hurt his chances of rallying a united front of countries against Beijing's mercantilism. By targeting allies with tariffs, Trump has eroded trust in American's economic and political reliability."

PBS reports that the planned military parade to celebrate Trump's June 14th birthday, could cost $92 million. This while the VA plans to cut its budget by 22%, with 81,000 jobs eliminated (VA News report). Celebrate our military by reducing VA medical care!

Washington Post quotes Mike Pence "Putin doesn't want peace. He wants Ukraine." "And the fact that we are now nearly two months following a ceasefire agreement that Ukraine has agreed to, and Russia continues to delay and give excuses - it confirms that point."

SCOOP: FEMA workers will stop knocking on doors to provide aid to survivors in disaster areas, per a memo obtained by WIRED. This comes as the agency is shifting responsibility for recovery efforts to local authorities.

Oh, and it's hurricane preparedness week, btw.

Wonder why DOGE savings estimates keep shrinking? Maybe because the "savings" are paying to defend the questionable legality of these cuts. All that legal defense isn't free. The administration is cutting funds for SNAP, VA, USAID etc. while spending more to pay for lawyers to defend these actions.

Our part-time president currently has his sights fixed on Oval Office decor. Carolina Miranda refers to his "old-fashioned rococo and baroque style". I would characterize his decorating style as "garish bordello" and not at all appropriate for the Oval Office.

Wall Street Journal: Musk claimed he could slash federal spending by $2 trillion. Yet in the first 80 days of the Trump administration, federal spending was $154 billion higher than in the same period last year.

Gov. Hobbs will not sign any new legislation until she receives a bipartisan funding bill for the Dept. of Developmental Disabilities. The Republican only bill provides funding, but caps caregiver eligible hours to 20/wk. About 60,000 AZ families currently provide in-home care funded by DDD.

Welcome to the looming Trump recession! I can understand why many Americans fell for the tariff scam, but not why financial market leaders think that the man who repeatedly declared bankruptcy is some kind of financial genius.

According to columnist James Hohmann, The Trump Justice Dept. will focus less on crypto fraud. Three convicted Bitcoin exchange leaders involved in human/drug trafficking, pardoned by Trump. Hohmann describes this as "an invitation to fraud".

Trump executive order on shower heads? Water efficient shower heads have ruined his "perfect hair". While AZ water agencies spend millions on conservation in the midst of a 20+ year drought, our part-time president works on his hairdo before catching a few rounds of golf.

Sec. Lutnick, Ministry of Magical Thinking, says that people are going to start building US factories "right now" (April 3, 2025, Fox News). Good news! I can get a job now that my 401(k) is no longer worth anything.
