that tracks every users swipes and likes... I pushed back on it and I refused to make one, it really shocked me how adamant some people were about it. Something about doing that just felt so wrong, especially with wikipedia being the core product

All you get with wikitok are completely random wikipedia articles, and a like button to store your favorites. No sophisticated algorithm.
I didn't build it with the intent of fighting back algorithms, but when made the code public I had dozens of people asking me to create some insane algorithm...

2 weeks ago I went decently viral for making a website called wikitok (wikipedia + tiktok scrolling, if you're interested I'd recommend the Ars Technica coverage of it they did it the best)
