Not sure where small orgs should try to crowdfund at this point, as both Kickstarter and @indiegogo.com.web.brid.gy seem to have similar problems; between abuse if their user DBs and failed/scam campaigns, it's not worth the risk to the consumer to engage with either.

Kickstarter, by all appearances, has an issue with either:
- data leakage of their user accounts + activity, or
- an employee actively selling off account data + activity, or
- selling your data to 3rd party spammers is now part of their business model.
