NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

When Hate Masquerades as Liberty: Clay Higgins, Charlie Kirk, and the Moral Limits of Speech
On September 10, 2025, the assassination of Charlie Kirk—31-year-old conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA—shook the nation. As I wrote in my September 14 post, this was not just the killing of a controversial figure; it was a direct assault on the democratic principle that political disagreement must never be settled with violence. Utah Governor Spencer Cox and President Donald Trump both underscored the need for justice to send a clear warning: violence undermines democracy, and the justice system must respond with severity to protect free speech for all.

MSNBC fired Matthew Dowd for pointing out Kirk’s hate speech while Fox keeps Brian Kilmeade after he said killing the homeless via lethal injection would end homelessness.

A perfect example of how right-wing extremism is tolerated, but even pointing it out gets punished. The media reinforces this.

If you are going to be angry about someone making what you deem as inappropriate comments about Kirk’s death but you deal with it by harrassing them, their family, their colleagues and friends with threats and vile insults and rhetoric you are no better than the person you claim to be upset with.

Geoff Bennett: You say that poetry is not useful, and that's exactly why we need it. Why?

David Duchovny: "We want to get educated to be able to work, to have a job of some kind, which is great and it's necessary. But we've lost sight of educating a mind on how to think or a soul how to feel."

Destroy the little bit of a safety net we still provide as you give more money to those who already have it, all while giving unprecedented funding to federal law enforcement in the midst of a president seeking to unconstitutionally and illegally use federal law enforcement.

What could go wrong?

In effect, the Supreme Court ruled that only it could decide issues on a national level. And then, with thousands and thousands of people waiting in limbo for resolution of many legally disputed Trump orders, the justices went on summer vacation, not to return until October.

And here we are… watching those rights get completely trampled on
#ResistanceRoots

Today in history, 1964: The Senate musters enough votes to break a 75-day filibuster against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, leading to the bill’s passage. It was the first time in its history that the Senate had defeated a filibuster on a civil rights bill. /1
