I believe the term "Soymilk" removes any alleged ambiguity. It's very clear that it's not referring to dairy milk. Oatmilk, same thing. Single word spelling can be used for all plant-based dairy milk alternatives.

Why you ask? Because dairy lobbyists have tried to get laws passed banning soy, grain, and nut milks from being calling "milk". One argument used is it's misleading and confusing to consumers to call these dairy alternatives "milk". Way to question the intellect of a large swathe of consumers, guys.
