Then, we should be concentrating on our fellow citizens and seeking ways to Make Canada Greater (because we already are pretty good).
But people who live in poverty are stereotyped and we generally fail to consider the individual and how poverty impacts that person.

The truth is we are losing ground to other countries in all the areas of decreasing poverty, education, health care and gun control.
Yes, we are tainted by the American influence, but we should be looking first at the countries that do better than us, so that we can improve.

When we waste time congratulating ourselves on being better than the Americans, we make ourselves smaller. It is a poor measure to say that we have better health care, that we have less of a gun problem, that we have fewer people living in poverty, that our education system is better.
