From Warren Buffet's final letter. Don't let the way this is written fool you: transparency causing CEO wage increases is a failure of capitalism.

Governments can cap wage gaps between the top and bottom employees of an organization to level the playing field. This is a solvable problem.

Immich runs on a Raspberry Pi 5, but it definitely puts a strain on things when you're running your initial backup! 😅

I knew I was gonna encounter easily stripped bolts on this car, but I was *really* hoping I wouldn’t encounter them when replacing this ABS wheel speed sensor… and so far I’ve got 2, maybe 3 and one of them was the bolt holding the sensor in the steering knuckle. 😭 Damn you, Midwest rust!

Now there's something I haven't seen in my work mailbox in a loooooong time...

I think next year I'll do the vampire teeth on my Miata. Back in 2022 it was lots of fun covering the whole car in a bedsheet and doing the classic ghost costume.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

- Buy a treadmill
- Never use it
- Start preparing to sell said treadmill at a significant loss
- It's recalled with no remedy
- Discover it's illegal to sell a recalled item

Well... I guess we're holding onto it until we decide to finally take back the space it takes up in our basement...

I think I'm going to be stuck in Expert 1 Purgatory forever now.

At least for a moment in my life I was able to taste the jade room in Mahjong Soul. 🥲

Mild panic is settling in after realizing that the ABS issues on my Miata may be more expensive than previously suspected depending on which corner(s) need to have wheel speed sensors replaced.

Another wedding as the couple with the best matching outfits, plus I got to see rays and skates and hang out with my high school friend group (and @itsonlybrad.bsky.social )!

Well that 20-mile endurance hike was rough, but I did it!

Ready for a 20 mile hike tomorrow.

All three of these sound interesting enough that I wanna try all three. The problem is that Blake's is an apple orchard and everyone & their brother is going to Blake's for cider & donuts for the next 2 months.

The curse of winning the first hand, even if it's Kazoe Yakuman, is too powerful.

I was in the dealer seat for that tsumo'd yakuman and still somehow recovered. A nice change from the last 5 games where I lost.

You ever just look at somewhere on a map and wonder "I wonder what a place was like in its prime?"

Yeah, I looked up the Belle Isle Zoo today and HOLY SHIT by today's standards this is so incredibly unethical. What a wild time to have been a kid at a zoo, though.

Four losses in a row. Sometimes I hate this game.

Sometimes it's just that easy to get Detroit style pizza for dinner, folks.

If you’ve never experienced Chroma by Cartel front-to-back live, you’re missing out on something magical.

Been watching my parents’ dog for the last week now and while we’ve had our issues with Geno, I can’t help but love how dang cute he is when he’s just laying down being a total couch potato.

Unbelievable addition to the Carrot Weather app as part of the iOS 26 update released today.

Logitech needs to do better with their repairability. The MX Master 3 is one of the best selling mice of all time and you cannot repair the mouse button switches without either soldering or fully replacing the entire main board of the mouse. Very disappointing.

It’s weird watching my 401k behavior since I started contributing it almost exactly 3 years ago. Look at the erratic growth after the crash in April of this year! 😳 Not sure if it’s the AI bubble or something else, but it sure is interesting to witness.
