President Trump spent $15 billion in taxpayer dollars to lose 200,000+ federal jobs and millions of combined years of experience.

We lit up Washington, D.C. to expose the Trump-Vance administration’s reckless dismantling of the federal government.

This isn’t just about Democrats blocking Republicans. It’s about our elected leaders, regardless of power, standing up for democracy, the rule of law, and the pose of the voters themselves.

Analysis: For only the second time since Donald Trump took office in January, Democrats who are out of power in Washington find themselves in a situation where they have actual leverage to block him and his party.

Through many of his actions, Trump is siding with and thereby promoting strongman politics in a continent with a dismal and not terribly remote history of this kind of rule, columnist @hofrench.bsky.social writes.

Nothing about us without us.

We're at today's House Oversight Committee hearing about DC to make it clear DC communities don't want Congress's interference in our judges, prosecutions, sentencing, or police.

They can't talk about our communities without expecting to hear from our communities.

Democracy means believing in each other. It’s deciding together what kind of society we want.
On this #DemocracyDay, let’s put “we” back at the centre. We can do it — if we dare.

President Trump said late Saturday that he would issue an executive order to require voter identification for all U.S. elections, a continuation of his efforts to overhaul the nation’s election laws, which he has long attacked and falsely blamed for his 2020 election loss.
Trump Says He Will Sign Executive Order Mandating Voter I.D.
He also wants to restrict mail-in voting and allow only paper ballots. The Constitution doesn’t give the president explicit authority over election law.

As the relocation process begins, the Falepili Union must not only protect Tuvalu’s future but also honor the values it was meant to uphold.

Declaring a fake emergency as an excuse to deploy the military to police civilians is one of the most canonical examples of authoritarian takeovers.

Overseas, people see clearly what Trump is doing. Here in America most people — especially those with power or influence — are in denial.
