I don’t consider these two things remotely comparable, if that’s what u were getting at. But as we’re both likely on smart phones, obvi on internet and social media, we gotta both recognize the sad hypocrisy of our modern existence.

Sure: the conf flag was used for 1/2 a second by a losing team fighting to keep slavery legal, by KKK in lynchings and still by white supremacy hate groups. It is a hurtful symbol that seeks to remind (and pass-aggressively threaten) ppl of the atrocities for which it stands. FCK THAT FLAG.

He has to be the saddest, most insecure, loveless, loneliest person alive. His odd vanity, need for approval and need to rule - he knows he’s gonna die soon, so he’s attempting his final conquest, as it’s the only legacy he can leave - he’s failed at everything else.

It IS the way it works when our brains and bodies can’t keep pace with the bombs being thrown at us left and right every second of the day. Nothing that’s happening is normal, so our responses to it won’t be either! If u find a few moments of sanctuary, just enjoy them. You clearly needed them!

But also, if everyone ‘decent’ leaves these platforms, they become echo chambers and no one will ever see opposing info / views. I’d rather stick around and piss everyone off, especially the platform owners.

Keep it. Stay logged out when not using, that shows ur not an active user 24/7, make sure EVERY setting protects privacy on FB & Messenger. Everyone wants boycotts, and that’s fine, but ur connections r more important. Let those who CAN leave. Also …

It is. Those who don’t like it are opposed to the Democratic Party being associated with the term democracy which they don’t believe in but can’t admit. Kinda the same with liberal - liberal means free, open-minded, accepting, worldly… all good things they can’t be, so they coin it a slur.
