Join us for a talk exploring the legacy of supercomputer designer Seymour
Cray. We’ll
delve into the early machines he built and the supercomputer companies he
founded,
examining key supercomputer design features and their practical
applications. We’ll also
hear from other users and workers at Cray Research.
Q&A will follow.
In person ickets also include day admission to view the world's largest
collection of functional historic computers, including the Bombe and
Colossus - the world's first electronic, digital computer.

About the Speaker:
Clive England worked at Cray Research during the 1990s, a time when
supercomputers
were evolving from superfast processors to super-capacity systems. As a
software service
engineer at a hardware company, he was responsible for installing, tuning,
and
troubleshooting these multi-million pound systems. Currently, he is
researching the
history of Cray-branded supercomputers.
