Fantasy writer, weaver of words and worlds. Admirer of intriguing monsters, cunning ladies, and nefarious villains. Lovely to meet you!
They will be there, for sure - a few already, and more as I get to write more stories 🔥

The cosmology - and overarching history of the setting.

That is deliberately left mysterious and only ever hinted at with myths, poetry, songs, and similar.

Because I want the readers to theory-craft and piece together that mystery for themselves.

Oh! I am so excited for several of these. They will look fantastic in your style!

10 - There was no book that inspired my to write. I have always liked making stories when playing.

And writing just happened to be the easiest creative outlet that allowed me to bring those stories more to life. And I just grew to enjoy it more as I went on.

9 - My favourite place to write is lying or sitting on my bed. Which is where I have written almost all my good work.

8 - In life I would rather be known for many good books. As I would rather people like as I came out with new books.

7 - I think the two stories that first made me feel like an actual writer were:

1 - My first ever story, a short father-daughter story I wrote for the Archon and Solarite of my dark eldar Kabal.

2 - An fanfic alternative ending for Mass Effect 3, because I hated the ending. And my first fanfic.

6 - My biggest supporter in total is my brother. My biggest about writing specifically used to be one of my previous writing group friends (thanks Sun), and is now @valeriestorm.bsky.social and @kiraofthewind.com

5 - No, I have never made myself cry with something I have made. I have different emotions from creating art than from experiencing art.

But then again, I have only ever cried twice from reading, and it is perfectly possible I just have not made anything good enough to trigger that yet.

4 - I am a benevolent dictator. That is to say I ultimately run the show, but I am happy to take input from my characters if they want something.

And some of those little shits are more than happy to take advantage of that generosity.

3 - In my opinion 'writer's block' covers several different things.

Sometimes you can't write because you don't know where to go with the story. Sometimes because you're in depression or sorrow. And sometimes because you're creatively burned out.

And those should each be handled very differently.
December 20, 2025 at 9:20 PM
2 - Oh no-no-no-no-no. Write professionally, yes, but writing five-seven hours every day, every week, would make me hate writing and burn out so fast.
December 20, 2025 at 9:20 PM
1 - I don't know if profound - but one of my favourite comment I got on my writing was an assignment in university I had chosen to write in English instead my native tongue.
And the English was so clean that my teacher couldn't tell it wasn't written by a non-native speaker.

As left-handed myself, that is one trait I usually quietly give my main characters.

They tend to be either left handed, or ambidextrous from training after being born left-handed.

The nations ranked from 'nicest' to worst for a slave would be, in order:

Good
- Persion
- Paaluri
- Maro

Moderate
- Mandalyn
- Zoerakhi
- Zelran
- Akyptul

Bad
- Vaul
- Baroque
- Kassrn
- Lantean
- Rael'xar

Terrible
- Ostero
- Cala Visla Kuul
- Cthon

The treatment and protection of the slaves varies from place to place.

In Mandalyn slaves are almost indistinguishable from ordinary paid servants, with worker rights.

In Vaul owners have far more leeway, and it is closer to historical slavery.

In Cthon slavery is a horrific death sentence.

In some places slavery is essentially used to get the poor into the 'work force'.

A slaver teaches a volunteer slave a couple basic skills. And negotiates a short contracts of 3-8 years that almost serves as an apprenticeship where the slave gains experience for when they're a free citizen again.
December 20, 2025 at 4:59 PM
When a contract is expired, the slave is freed and allowed to go as they wish.

They are often given a 'severance' recompence based on their service. And a slaver is almost always present to negotiate this severance based on performance of the slave and treatment from the owner through the years.
December 20, 2025 at 4:59 PM
The duration of the slave contract depends on type.

Hard labour such as ship rowing or mining are short, usually 3-8 years.

Beauty or entertainment slaves have moderate contracts of 10-20 years.

Long terms service contracts of 30+ years are usually house service related (maid, cook, butler...)
December 20, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Many professional slavers will often return to their customers, to check up on the slave to make sure that the contract is being upheld.

And owners who fail to do so will have to pay fines, can be blacklisted from the slave trade and lose ownership of the slave, and/or be taken to court.
December 20, 2025 at 4:59 PM
the terms of the slavery:
- what duties and obligations the slave has
- what they can and cannot be compelled to do
- the length of service
- amount and types of punishment allowed
- recovery guarantees / compensation for injuries
- promise of financial recompense once freed
and similar provisions.

Once a buyer decides to purchase a slave, an extensive vetting process and negotiations takes place. With the slaver also serving as the slave's advocate.

e.g. a slaver will not sell a female slave to a man with a history of abuse towards women etc.
Then a contract is drafted, which lays out...
December 20, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Some slaves are sold on auction, but this is rare. Most are either held in a boutique, not unlike a brothel, for sale by people coming to peruse. Or custom ordered in advance for a specific, often wealthy client.

A slave is an expensive investment, ~ in the same price range as buying a car for us.
December 20, 2025 at 4:59 PM
A slaver usually keeps a slave for months to determine worth, teach them needed skills, nurse them to good health, determine the best place for them etc.

And they take great care that everything is in order, as the slaver is the one held legally responsible for the slaves actions.
