The Post describing these as ‘trade deals’ is journalistic malpractice. It’s like me writing up half a shopping list and claiming I’ve finished shopping. Or as a great statesman once said, they are ‘the concept of a plan’ of an agreement.

I believe the strategy is simply to pile the dirt on the sinkhole and let it slowly sink down to level, then pave over it. Couldn’t be less effective than what they’ve been doing in the past.

That’s what we thought. But even with qualifying events, you have to wait until the first. At least COBRA can used retroactively, so we have a form of catastrophic coverage in case of emergency in the interim.

Thanks—I’ll look into them. People have recommended Alpine, but I can’t get past that fee. Can’t do anything at the moment, anyway—we lost our employer-based policy, but can’t sign up for ACA coverage until August 1. Such a great healthcare system!
