Another Aleutian earthquake swarm is ongoing. These episodic occurrences are interesting, and are seldom a threat.

Unlike Earth's rotational pole, which is fixed, its magnetic pole continually wanders. It's been on a tear of late. In the map, Arctic #Alaska is intersected by the 150th and 160th meridians. wdc.kugi.kyoto-u.ac.jp/poles/figs/p...

Numerous Alaskans are thinking earthquake activity is elevated this year. A quick check shows that there were ~60 more M3+ events for a large swath of the state over the same period in 2024. "Averages" only make sense over a multi-decadal range.
