Somehow it's a two paper day: this beast of a paper containing recommendations for sample citation is out in Scientific Data too! This one has been in progress for years. Joan Damerow, Val Stanley and Sarah Ramdeen were the originators. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

How do you format your academic #bibliographies? I used to use bibtex, then switched to a hexadecimal hash, so Goring et al. 2023 becomes #ae657f. This way each set of references can be rendered into a colour palette for easier recall and use.
Here is the references section of my last paper:
A set of colour that I claim represent some sort of cataloguing system for publications. But if you read the alt text you’ll know it’s totally made up.

There is tons of interest in this topic here at UofA and there are a lot of communities to get tapped into with these roles. I'm not involved in this search but happy to talk about life in Tucson, moving into library-adjacent landscapes, etc.

absolutely. to ted's point about teaching more hist of sci -- i've taught Project Xanadu along with the Memex and Otlet's Mundaneum in past information organization classes, to help give context about how past visions for technology shape our world now. Xanadu is always super popular with students.
