back in the mid 90s - at the Anchorage UAA Campus during wintertime, I was rushing across the campus to my next class, zipping around a corner on the ice, ALMOST slid into the backcheeks of a moose… Thankfully I didn’t make contact, moose went back to munching trees whilst I continued onwards 😳😂

If I recall details I read long time ago : the ”mid-air fish encounter” back in 1987 continued to the next stop with a mechanic sent off to check it
No damage, just some fish grease and scales where it had smacked the aircraft near. the cockpit window… 😁

this plane apparently had a bird strike today out of JUN
funny thing is that back in 1987 at JUN, an Alaska Air 737 had a fish mid-air strike at about 400 feet altitude (eagle dropped fish as the jet ascended from runway)
so kinda ironic decades later that the Alaska fish plane had a bird strike… 🤣
