Right. I wonder. I hear a lot of stories abt people asking for (especially in songs it’s clemency from death row) pardons though, from state governors… a perk of the job… power over life and death

he WOULD sing so good he'd convince a governor (who apparently run his campaign on the promise that he would *not* pardon convicts) to set him free on good behavior
apparently that governor would take guests to the prison on sundays to listen to the guy perform...
