Now might be a good time to remind any climate sceptics who might be lurking hereabouts that global warming doesn't mean that everywhere is going to be warmer.

I say this because the weather forecast predicts a maximum of 12° on Wednesday, against an average maximum for mid September of 18°.

Is it too early to call this year's forecast for the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season as being a bit off? All the forecasts were for a very active season, and here we are at the peak of the season having had only five named storms. Or am I missing something?
