The US sat on the sidelines for the start of WWII, unsure which side to support. So in the meantime they sold superior equipment to Germany and any products where they could profit. It wasn't like there was a moral decision made.

I had that 'issue' with making the bed. One cat that would literally come running, leap on the bed, and lie in the middle waiting for the top sheet to go over him. He was the ultimate in adorable cat.
