Over two hours of detailed discussion about Tito Santana's career with the great @joegagne.bsky.social

Podcasts like this are why I still do it. I had an absolute blast!

Please check it out at @pwtorch.bsky.social, and go watch some Tito this weekend!

Credit where it's due. The match was excellent, and far from a joke in practice. KOR still being able to go like that makes his persona all the more frustrating. There's a lot you can do with a guy that can work like that, and it doesn't involve goofy faces and shite jokes.

I really like Kyle O'Reilly.

But why does he insist on making me hate every second he's on my TV?

Way to make your biggest match in the last few years a joke before it even happens.

He's approaching 40, and he's still living in 2010 humour wise. As a fellow millennial I recognise it clearly.
alan4l.bsky.social
Just begging the crowd to ignore the actual match and do a "funny" chant. Why even bother wrestling?

The term 'biting dog' comes from Japanese dog fighting, where a biting dog was a small, particularly angry dog that would be used to nip at the ankles of the other dogs to get them sufficiently fired up for the fight. When Riki took Ishii under his wing, he felt the description fit perfectly.

If you've ever wondered why Ishii is the Stone Pitbull, Ishii means stone, but his mentor Riki Choshu named him his 'biting pitbull' in reference to a comment made during Choshu's feud with Fujinami in the '80s where he declared in an interview that he was "not Fujinami's biting dog" #AEWDynamite

should have stopped watching after that. Main event was shite.

HOLY FUCK!!!

YUTO ICE VS. YUYA UEMURA ROCKED!

Ice is far and away the most compelling character in NJPW.

Walker Stewart's "He's too dumb to quit!!!" call was so perfect.

One week after his famous El Dandy promo, Bret Hart was on Nitro Backstage Blast once again preaching the gospel of El Dandy. #wcw99

I now move from Ole Anderson to a 1987 NJPW match pitting Rick Steiner & Steve Williams against Akira Maeda & Nobu Takada.

If there's a theme of my Sunday afternoon it's "Ornery miserable cunts".

Flair on commentary right now: "Ole's on an island. He's outta the family, and if you haven't got family to turn to what have ya got? His wife? his kids? That's nothing goin' on!"

This is as good of a show that we've done in a while and it's one of our favorite subjects too....

I can't get enough of Joe Pedicino & Global discussion plus you throw in all the cast of characters as well...

Great show

New on the @btsheetspod.bsky.social Patreon: We go back to 1992 for the infamous "fool or liar?" column that Bruce Mitchell wrote in the Torch Re: Joe Pedicino. Joe's friends respond in force, and then it gets very, VERY interesting.

Just $5.00/month or $50.40/year at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets!

this sounds amazing

I wasn't intending to, but thanks to @pwoloss.bsky.social I'm watching all of the Ole Anderson/Horsemen split from early 1987 and it's absolutely incredible. Some of the best promos I've ever seen. All of them, Tully, Arn, JJ, Flair, Ole himself.... hell even Luger is killing it on the mic!

Dragongate have a show in Korakuen on Wednesday which is one of the most stacked cards they've put in that building in many a year.

The best version of the main event is a MOTYC and there's a shit load of potential on the undercard.

Good time to get on the Dragongate Network

Mansoor with bonus hands is crazy. Rick Knox becoming the accidental big spoon.

They got Monster J back there! Why not!

booooo it's taped. I assume any mid-match shoot fight will have been edited out. Disappointing.

Eddie Kingston should beat Dralistico tonight with a Magnum TA belly to belly. I know he loves that move. It would be a wonderful finisher for him in the right circumstances.

Also is Collision live? Because I expect that match to be appointment viewing if it is.

there's actually about a dozen separate Roadie quotes that are hilarious/interesting scattered throughout. Some great Paul Bearer stuff, PJ Polaco just sitting in the bar chatting with them about how tired he is, them teasing unmasked Kwang, Kama in an SS t-shirt..... all kinds...
