John Cena is doing next-level work in PEACEMAKER Season 2. I have pacing issues with this season (takes too long to get to where it needs to be), but no joke, Cena may be delivering one of the greatest superhero performances ever. He’s putting that character through some serious acting moments.

There’s an interview going around about AI, so before there are any questions, let me state unequivocally that BLACK PHONE 2 is 100% organic. AI was not used at any stage of the filmmaking from idea generation, research, look books, writing, onscreen images - anything. We’re old school and love it.

Watching a foreign film with subtitles is a richer experience than just having it translated for you in your ear. You're missing the performance, the vocal inflections, the intent of both the actor and the script. These are aspects of a film that are integral, and I don't want to miss them.

There are a couple of sequences that if done well could bring it to that excitement level. But it doesn’t have that alchemy of Hanna and McCauley circling/chasing each other. It’s just spinning wheels.

WB took a hit on ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER do it’s not a surprise they couldn’t go all in on Michael Mann’s HEAT 2, and Amazon can throw money at that anyway. I thought the book was really good.

But it ain’t HEAT, and people expecting HEAT better readjust. I like HEAT 2 but it’s not HEAT.
