Our company had to replace laptops purchased in 2020 in order to upgrade to Win11. While 5 years might seem old to some, it’s a waste when all were still in good working order

I think the different for the tenant was that when someone is politically appointed by powerful people, you’re impact is perceived as futile. But the tenant knew that this time around, revealing the story would have big impact: as the appointment will be chosen by the people of Ireland

Got to love Dublin. #Speirgorm
Picture of a large junction box on the street at the top of Kildare Street at Stephen’s Green in Dublin, Ireland. On it is painted a very large, angry-looking seagull in front of two wooden gates. Two tiny people, dwarfed by the seagull, appear to be running from it, one on either side of the lower front of the image. The text over the gates reads St Stephen’s Green. The signature in the lower right of the image says M. Fitz 25.

Hearing reports of Jim Gavin canvassers in the Wicklow mountains who are refusing to surrender.

No, but you may have an investment in software, skills, derivative work, etc., all tied to using Windows. And if you remain on an older version, you’re susceptible to being hacked

He will still probably get 1-2% of the vote before getting eliminated and I think their 2nd pref votes will be transferred to the other candidates. With such a close race, it may decide the outcome of the election: based on the dumbest voters who didn’t realise Gavin was no longer running

Narrator: “after that brave burst of independence, he carefully cut a clean line down the ragged edge of the bread and disposed of the crumbs before his wife returned home”

Raising the tax bands in line with inflation/ wage rises isn’t a “tax cut”. But failing to raise the bands is a tax RISE

Reminds me of the story of a US couple who Bank of America wrongly seized their home for supposed mortgage default. They won a court case with compensation but bank failed to pay up. Went back to court and went with the sheriff, a movers truck and a local tv camera crew

I don’t think there’s such a thing as Long Chickenpox. I’m not disputing your long term fatigue but whatever its cause, it probably wasn’t the chickenpox

Seeing ghosts and revealing skeletons in a cupboard seems like a good segue?

Of all Jim Gavin’s gaffes, it turns out it was his spare one that took him down.

We’ve had roundabouts in Ireland for 50 years. I’m still dismayed by the significant proportion of drivers who have still not figured it out

None: it was a body set up by Agreement between US, UK and Soviet Union - the International Military Tribunal

Smear campaigns save the “best” for last, when they have the most impact just before the vote

But many media outlets are only just mustering their campaigns against Connolly. A constant barrage of smears will erode her lead and may turn the undecideds away from her

There’s people who still use a landline??

I don’t know if this individual IS a security threat, but if they are, there’s a big difference between giving them a job with privileged access is different to working in some local accountants’ or real estate offices

I agree in general to rehabilitation and employment opportunities.
But if someone is a potential security threat, and you’re giving them a pass to parts of the Dáil that’s closed to the public, then such graciousness might be stretched
